Unconventional Packaging

David Espluga

EMO is an unconventional packaging project that conceptualizes emotions as controllable and functional tools. It proposes a speculative system that challenges dominant narratives of emotional wellbeing. Rather than promoting self-care, the project explores control, efficiency, and manipulation through design.

The system is structured around three interconnected products which operate as a closed cycle: eliminating internal emotion, generating emotional dependency in others, and ultimately directing their behavior. Through its narrative and visual identity, the project critically examines the commodification of emotions and the ethical implications of turning human affect into a usable resource.
